How can I mint and list an NFT for free on OpenSea?
Hey On Ben Yu's course on Nas Academy he minted NFT on OpenSea for free. But now OpenSea it actually asks for us to pay gas fees for it. How do I overcome this?

I think you are talking about lazy minting which allows to create NFTs without any upfront gas cost. Basically the NFT is off chain until the first buy happen. Therefore all the fee will be on the first person buying not the creator some links from OS https://opensea.io/blog/announcements/introducing-the-collection-manager/
its because he must have uploaded it on polygon blockchain
I know but he's talking about minting it and of course when you're minting it on opensea its not actually listed on blockchain unless it is purchased by someone or being transferred and when you're transferring it or buying it that is the time when its going to ask for gas fee
is this method still available
I have checked it multiple times . It is Ethereum blockchain
you can't upload NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain without paying the gas fees which you can edit by yourself but there's still a way you can upload it on rarible and whilst you are minting and writing the details select the lazy minting option over there and then you'll be able to mint NFT on Ethereum Blockchain without paying the gas fees and when the buyer buys the NFT he will pay for the gas fee but you cannot do the same process on opensea you have to pay the gas fee on opensea :-)
in the initialising your wallet process , it opens the metamask wallet and asks to pay the gas fee. How could I make it for free.
Great question! Reading the comments below, I see that you're talking about creating an NFT on OpenSea and listing it for free for others to buy.
While you can create and list NFTs for free on Ethereum with lazy minting on OpenSea, there is unfortunately one catch.
If this is your first time ever listing on OpenSea, you have to pay a one-time fee to initialize your account. This is just a one-time fee, and after this you'll be able to list for free on OpenSea forever with the same account address.
You can read more about this here: https://support.opensea.io/hc/en-us/articles/1500003246262
However, you can get around this by just minting on Polygon, and not Ethereum, and not pay any gas fees, just like Boring Artts mentioned below. You can follow the instructions here to do so: https://support.opensea.io/hc/en-us/articles/4404029357587-How-do-I-create-and-sell-NFTs-on-Polygon-
Hope that helps! Sorry for the confusion and thanks so much for the great question!
So I don't believe you can directly mint from OS. If you are referring to the Nas Academy course, there was a free mint for all graduates. This nft mint is viewable / tradeable on opensea :)
no, it not that it was actually listed on the website and it would be minted once it is bought by the buyer
I can’t speak to the NFT for Ben’s class but I have experienced other “free” mints which are free because the person or team behind them is paying the gas for you. (Example: NFTport does this on their “free” plan)

Polygon has gas fee, it’s just really inexpensive.
