What is Nitro on Discord and what are Nitro boots? Can someone please explain the Nitro concept and how it's utilized on Discord, please. Also, there is a subscription cost - is this something many people subscribe too? What are the benefits? Thank you!

Hi Alyson, great question! Discord Nitro is basically a paid membership that grants you fuller access in Discord and to further personalize your profile. This can be in the form of emojis, banner, number tag, animated avatar, bigger upload/hd file size or simply to show support to your favorite servers through boosting. Nitro boosts are also known as Server Boosting that essentially allows you to improve on the chosen server and grant it additional perks.

Nitro is a way for Discord to provide additional benefits for a monthly subscription cost so they can create a revenue stream. The main benefit for me is that it allows you to join more servers (200), change your PFP/profile inside each server (while maintaining your global profile), and use emojis from other servers as normally you can only use them inside their specified server. Nitro boosts are either 1. given by a nitro subscriber (they allow you to have 2 boosts active on servers while you're a subscriber) or 2. They can be purchased on a monthly basis for a cost for a server you want to support. Nitro subscribers can assign one of their two boosts to any server, and then switch that boost to a new server after 7 days. Why do servers want people to boost them? Level 1 - 2 boosts, Level 2 - 7 boosts, Level 3 - 14 boosts Increase the number of emoji slots for each boost level, increase sticker slots, increase audio quality for voice chat, animating your server icon, custom server invite backgrounds, add server banners and custom roles, and for level 3 you can have a custom invite link for the server. Thus if you want any of these items, you need boosts to achieve them.

Hi there! Yes I am a subscriber to Nitro mainly because I love showcasing my various pfps in their respective discords. For example I have an addy pfp in CATC I have a MA pfp in meta angels discord I have my martian pfp set for MPL discord etc. It's just another way to show support and to show fellow community members what you minted/bought of secondary :)

@Jeshua's answer is excellent! I use discord nitro personally as it allows me a greater number of servers, allows different profiles across those servers, and also allows me to support a few servers to get extra benefits too. Some additional points that aren't stated on the Nitro webpage are the following: "Aside from everything mentioned above, you also get access to bigger file upload limitations (100 MB), longer messages (4000 characters), and a higher maximum number of servers (200)." - https://whatifgaming.com/discord-nitro-what-is-it-and-is-it-worth-it/

Thank you @ZUCC. With the different profiles, are you then able to have a curious Addy's profile and then let's say a BFF profile...so you don't need to keep switching out PFPs?

That is absolutely correct - on behalf of Zucc xD
